Garlic Knots

Ingredients

Bread

1 cup warm water

1 tsp honey

2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast

2 1/2 cups all purpose flour

1 tsp salt

Herb Butter

1/4 cup parmesan cheese

3 garlic cloves, chopped

1 Tbsp dried parsley

1 Tbsp dried basil

2 tsp dried oregano

4 Tbsp salted butter

Directions

1. In stand mixer combine water, honey and yeast and let sit for 5 minutes.

2. Add flour and salt. Using dough hook mix for 2 minutes until dough is smooth. 

3. Cover dough with towel and let rise 1 hour. 

4. In small bowl combine parmesan, garlic, parsley, basil, and oregano.

5. Set aside two Tbsp of seasoning, then mix 3 Tbsp of butter with remaining mix. 

6. Preheat oven to 375 F.

7. Roll out dough into a 12 x 12 inch square on floured surface.

8. Spread herby butter over the dough, fold in half, then cut into 12 even strips.

9. Twist each strip and tie ends into a loose knot. 

10. Place knots on baking sheet and let rise for 20 minutes.

11. Bake until golden brown, 15-20 minutes.

12. Brush warm knots with remaining butter and sprinkle with reserved seasoning mix. 

13. Serve with marinara sauce and enjoy! 

**for a sweet treat, use cinnamon sugar instead of the savory spice blend
